Assalamu 'alaikum wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you,
All praise is due to God. We praise Him, seek his help, and repent unto Him. We seek refuge in God from the evils of our souls and our sinful deeds. Verily, whosoever God guides, none can misguide, and whsoever God misguides, he shall never find a guiding guardian. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except God alone without partners, and I bear witness that Muhammed is His Servant and Messenger; may God’s peace and blessings be upon him, his noble family, his honourable companions and all that follow his guidance till the coming of the final hour.
Dear readers, depending on its creator's random interests and abstract thoughts, this blog may contain any of the following:
- Commentary (religious, social, political)—often extremely satirical when appropriate—on both local (Kuwaiti) and international issues
- Theological discussions (both interislamic and intraislamic)
- Personal thoughts
- Polls and surveys
- Qur'anic recitations
- Links to interesting items on the web
- Reviews (video games, movies, nasheeds)
- Parodies and jokes
and probably more.
At this point, I don't have any specific plans for this blog. I just thought it would be nice to have a place to vent and voice my opinions. This is a first-time venture into the world of blogging and I feel that there's no better way than to dive in head first. I expect to be experimenting for quite some time with the general layout of this blog, posted material, writing style (rigid, intellectual, academic Vs satirical, comical, playful), and "textul tone of voice," if you will (ie; do I want to sound serious and straightforward or laid back and not so serious? That sort of thing). I'll probably give it a fair dose of both. As for posting frequency, I have no idea. Hopefuly I'll be able to update regularly. Please bear with me as I progress from n00b status and take this blog through the pangs of birth.
That being said, I declare that whatever truth, virtue, righteousness, and good inscribed within the pages of this blog is but a blessing from God, and whatever falsehood, error, shortcoming, and evil is but a fault of my own and the influence of satan.
